Your Journey With Us
Founded in 2009 in Tepoztlán, IbogaQuest is a sacred medicine sanctuary where uncompromising medical safety meets deep psychotherapeutic care and contemplative practice.
We intentionally host just 1 small group each month, with a maximum of 7 participants. This ensures our team can be fully present and deeply attuned to each person, creating a private, intimate setting where you are genuinely seen, supported, and cared for at every step of your journey.
Entering ibogaine treatment is a profound decision. We honor that step by guiding each person through a careful and highly supported process, one designed not only for safety and readiness, but for meaningful, lasting integration.
Healing unfolds in environments where people feel protected, welcomed, and met exactly as they are. Our program is intentionally designed as a home-like container rather than a clinical facility, carefully held so that each person can arrive without performance, without pressure, and without fear.
Here, guests step into genuine community. You are offered structure without rigidity, choice without chaos, and guidance without control. The connections formed here often extend far beyond the retreat itself, becoming part of a longer journey of healing and belonging.

1. Application & Medical Screening
If you feel called to work with us, the first step is to complete our online application. This helps us understand your history, intentions, and medical background.
Within 72 hours, a team member will personally review your application and respond. We will let you know whether we believe we are a good fit, discuss any potential contraindications, and share available retreat dates.
2. Intake Call & Treatment Planning
If appropriate, we schedule a call to explore your goals, health history, expectations, and questions in more depth. This is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of us and how we work.
We believe this is a mutual process: both you and our team should feel aligned before moving forward.

3. Reserving Your Space
When you feel ready to commit to a retreat date, you can secure your space with a 20,000 MXN deposit ($1,000USD). You will then receive detailed preparation guidelines and next steps.
*If for any reason our medical team later determines that treatment would not be safe for you,
your deposit will be fully refunded.
4. Medical Clearance
Safety is our highest priority.
Before final confirmation, we require medical tests completed within three months of your retreat:
-
Blood pressure reading
-
EKG (including graph)
-
Complete Blood Count (CBC)
-
Basic Metabolic Panel
-
General urine test
-
Liver function test
*If you are over 60 or have specific medical conditions, additional testing (such as a heart stress test) may be required.

5. Preparation Sessions
Our protocol includes preparation sessions with one of our psychotherapists or coaches to help you arrive grounded, informed, and clear in your intentions.
During these calls, we:
-
Clarify what you are seeking
-
Support you in preparing mentally and emotionally
-
Shape realistic expectations
-
Address questions or concerns
-
Review informed consent and what you can expect from us
Ibogaine affects each person differently. We focus on helping you cultivate an open, receptive attitude and connect with your inner resources before arrival.

You choose how you engage. We offer structure and support, without pressure and with enough space for you to do it your way.
We host small groups (maximum 7 participants) 1 time per month, to ensure attentive, individualized care.
Our team is present 24/7, and full medical staff and paramedics are onsite during medicine sessions.
While we maintain rigorous medical standards, we intentionally do not create a hospital-like environment.
Our goal is for you to feel safe, comfortable, and able to go deep.
You will stay in a private room within our Posada-style home, with access to shared spaces, the garden, a pool, and a solar-heated jacuzzi overlooking the beautiful mountains of Tepoztlán.

8. Integration After You Return Home
Healing continues beyond the retreat.
Your program includes 1 to 3 integration sessions after your return home, supporting you in translating insights into sustainable change.
Ibogaine opens a powerful 2–3 month neuroplasticity window, a time when you are especially able to cultivate new habits and shift patterns. How you engage during this period matters deeply.
We strongly recommend ongoing therapeutic support. We can connect you with experienced therapists and coaches familiar with ibogaine integration.

Our Door Is Always Open
Because we offer a limited number of retreats each year, we are able to stay personally connected with those who come through our doors.
Many participants return to visit, reconnect, or simply say hello. We value long-term relationships and authentic connection. You are not just a client, you become part of our extended community.
It is an honor to accompany you through this journey!
Treatment Costs
At IbogaQuest, each program is carefully tailored to your intention, medical history, and level of support required. All treatments include medical screening, on-site medical supervision, preparation sessions, integration support, accommodations, and nourishing meals.
Final costs are determined after intake and review of your health history.
Substances & Psychiatric Profiles we do not work with: For safety and medical reasons, there are certain substances and psychiatric profiles we are unable to treat. These are assessed individually during the screening process. Your safety is our highest priority. Substances we currently do not work with: - Sublocade (injectable buprenorphine/Suboxone). - Fentanyl or other street drugs without verified content and composition testing. We are currently developing and refining updated protocols for Kratom (including 7-OH), Suboxone, and Methadone, as these substances require specialized preparation and individualized medical oversight. Please note that ibogaine is not effective for benzodiazepine dependence. If you are currently using benzodiazepines, please inform us. Depending on your situation, you may need a supervised taper before treatment or remain on a stabilized dose during the process for safety. Psychiatric profiles we do not work with: - Schizophrenia - Bipolar I - Active Psychosis - Severe Personality Disorders Beyond absolute contraindications, certain psychological profiles necessitate rigorous clinical oversight and specialized aftercare. Specifically, individuals presenting with active suicidal ideation, severe PTSD, or a history of depersonalization/derealization require nuanced assessment. The intensity of the Ibogaine experience may temporarily exacerbate these conditions, making a comprehensive integration and an aftercare support plan non-negotiable.
Spiritual / Psychospiritual Work
6,500 USD
Some people come to ibogaine to deepen self-understanding during a time of transformation, transition, or rite of passage. You may be exploring life direction, relationships, grief, purpose, or longstanding inner patterns. Others simply feel called to meet this medicine in a safe, grounded, and well-held container.
Ibogaine can open a profound space for insight and self-reflection. Experiences vary: some journeys are visionary and deeply introspective; others are quiet and clarifying, leaving participants feeling calm, centered, and reconnected to their inner wisdom.
Mood Disorders / PTSD / Traumatic Brain Injury
7,500 USD
Ibogaine has shown promising potential in supporting individuals struggling with depression, treatment-resistant mood disorders, post-traumatic stress, and certain cases of traumatic brain injury. By acting on multiple neurological systems and promoting neuroplasticity, ibogaine may help “reset” patterns that feel stuck: emotionally, cognitively, and behaviorally.
Because these conditions often involve complex nervous system dysregulation, we strongly recommend a longer therapeutic container before and after treatment. Integration support is essential for stabilizing gains, implementing new habits, and translating insights into daily life.
Addiction Interruption
8,500 USD – 13,500 USD
Ibogaine can interrupt addiction by acting on multiple brain systems simultaneously, including opioid, dopamine, serotonin, and NMDA receptors, while increasing neuroplasticity factors such as GDNF that help repair disrupted reward pathways.
In cases of opioid dependence, ibogaine can significantly reduce or eliminate acute withdrawal and dramatically decrease cravings within hours, creating a critical window of clarity. This is not maintenance therapy: it is a neurological and psychological interruption that opens space for lasting behavioral change when followed by proper integration and lifestyle shifts.
Depending on the substance involved, tapering may be required prior to arrival. Some medications and substances must be discontinued safely and gradually. In certain cases, we recommend arriving up to 7 days early for medically supported detoxification under supervision.
If we determine that a longer or more intensive medical detox is necessary than we can safely provide, we will refer you to trusted partner providers.
